This is probably the oddest thing I’ve come accross in a while. Cello and Pedal Steel Guitar playing Satie’s Gnossienne Suite. I can’t even decide if I like the combination of the two instruments… but it’s interesting to say the least.

I think it’s interesting that i can listen to this piece...

I think it’s interesting that i can listen to this piece over and over again and be compleltey facinated. Trying to folllow the downbeat and listening to it stay constant when I am sure it would have to change, and then morph when I least expect it to.

I found this album today, thinking it was all bulgarian choir music but with a wonderful stroke of luck it turned out to be recordings from a world music festival. Somehow a perfect mixture of different world traditions that fit together without really fitting together. Ended up being the perfect music to lazily read to and then fall sleep to in my livingroom recliner on a cold new years eve afternoon.

I heard about this album on NPR yesterday and finally got a chance to sit down and start listening. Extremely bold idea. Personally I think this is brilliant, and the type of convergence of musical genres that can bring a new generation back into appreciation of the classics.

First off… that is not the key of D♭. That… is not as much a key signature as it is someone throwing a flat on the staff and calling it a key signature. Secondly there are 4½ beats in the first measure…. 7 beats in the second measure and somehow simultaneously 5 beats and 6 beats in the third measure… according to the time signature there should always be 2 beats in each measure. Finally, with all the minor seconds the prelude du Fornication apparently sounds horrible.

This kinda of crap is what makes me reluctant to identify as Pansexual. I know that not every Pansexualy identified person is preaching this stuff but I don’t understand how they don’t see this as offensive to every other freaking person on the planet.

I didn’t choose to be attracted to all genders. I’m not some sort of magically higher minded person who has evolved to become “gender blind”. It’s just how I feel, and this shit makes me angry. It speaks down to the rest of the homosexual community… it speaks down to heterosexual allies. And (maybe I’m wrong… I am cisgendered) but I feel that this wording in particular speaks down to the transgender … I’m pretty sure they don’t find Gender trivial.
